Hello everyone,
As an outgoing MAG member, I'd like to thank everyone for this opportunity
to work with you, with special thanks to the work of the Secretariat for
their work and responsive help. +1 to previous messages detailing the
important work done by the whole MAG team and members.
I'd especially like to thank Lynn for her outstanding work as chair,
addressing issues that needed detailed attention, and her attention to
balance of diverse viewpoints and input.
As a personal and IGF priority, I hope that the IGF 2018 will address a few
specific points:
1. Requiring workshop organisers to update their descriptions, agendas, and
speakers. This is important for anyone deciding which sessions to attend,
and as important information for online participants, both for planning and
for necessary support while attending the sessions, in addition to any
reporting or follow-up on session discussions.
2. Suggesting to panel moderators, remote moderators, and all speakers to
identify speakers and identify themselves, since webcasts and transcripts
do not always include this information, necessary both for following the
sessions, and sharing of reports and information.
3. Asking session organisers to be sure to have correct namecards for each
session, and to remove namecards for changes.
4. Reviewing the quality of captioning and transcripts.
5. Continuing work on implementation of the electronic queuing technology.
Best wishes for 2018 and much appreciation for the work of the MAG,
Ginger
