[IGFmaglist] Proposal for IGF main session

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to share for your consideration a proposal for a main session at IGF 2018 that Ben and I worked on with Sorina's kind support.

The session would aim to convene an expert discussion to explore, through practical examples, best practices and lessons learned the various policy considerations around building an enabling policy environment for ICT development, innovation and investment - including technical, socio-cultural and economic considerations, as well as cross-cutting governance considerations emphasizing the need for holistic policies and multistakeholder cooperation. 

The proposal is closely linked to the subthemes and main issues of the IGF (particularly Development, Innovation & Economic Issues, Digital Inclusion & Accessibility and Media & Content) and to the intersessional work of CENB and the BPFs.

I am attaching an initial description for your information and am looking forward to your input and suggestions to build this into a successful main session - should the MAG decide this would be a valuable addition to the IGF's programme.
