[IGFmaglist] PROPOSAL FOR THE SET UP OF COMMUNICATION & OUTREACH WG

Hi Segun,

Thank you for this well thought-through proposal, which I whole-heartedly
support. It is important for the MAG to add to and complement the existing
comms/outreach work done by the Secretariat.

If I may add one suggestion - in addition to the objectives you suggested,
I propose we consider adding a fourth objective: "to improve interaction
and communication with other Internet governance-related entities in order
to further global policy dialogue."

This is a recommendation from the CSTD recommendation for IGF improvements
(section V ), which deals in some depth with ways to improve IGF outreach
and comms.

As a broader consideration, which doesn't necessarily need to be made
explicit, I would just add that it's important to take a holistic approach
to communications, and think beyond the annual conference. I'm referring in
particular to the way in which outreach can enhance and support outputs
coming out of various IGF tracks, like Connecting the Next Billion, BPFs,
etc. Important to keep that in mind.
