Thanks. It looks like a very unhelpful communications lapse by the Indonesians which is alarming stakeholders worldwide. Could you ask them to shut this PR guy up and issue a high level statement of confidence that the IGF is still on track; and also to re-double their efforts with the local industry partners with a message that there is still time to step up to the plate?

Dear Mark,

Many thanks for sharing. However, the UN has not received an official communication of any cancellation, as Chengetai explained. An Indonesian newspaper quoting an Indonesian official is not relevant in this context. The official channel of communication between the UN and a Member State is through the Permanent Mission in New York or in Geneva. Discussions are ongoing and so far nothing has been cancelled.
