Dear BPF participants,

As lead experts for this group we wanted to briefly introduce ourselves.

Cristine Hoepers is General Manager at CERT.br, the Brazilian National
CERT, maintained by NIC.br, from the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee
(CGI.br). She has been working with Incident Management at CERT.br since
1999, where she performs the following activities: helps the establishment
of new CSIRTs in the Country; provides training in information security and
incident handling; develops best practices for system administration and
user awareness materials; is involved with the organization of regular
meetings with diverse sectors in Brazil, to discuss Internet security and
best practices, among other matters.

Adli Wahid is a Board Member of the Forum for Incident Response and
Security Teams (FIRST) and focuses on FIRST's outreach to the global
incident response team community. He is also a Security Specialist at
APNIC. Adli is from Malaysia but lives in Brisbane, Australia. Prior to
moving to Australia, he was the Head of MyCERT, the Malaysian National CERT.

Maarten Van Horenbeeck is President of the Forum of Incident Response and
Security Teams. He is also a Senior Program Manager at Amazon, and most of
his experience in the CSIRT community has been developing security incident
processes in the private sector, and developing information sharing
partnerships between various types of CSIRT teams. He is originally from
Belgium, but lives in Seattle, Washington (USA).

We're really looking forward to partnering with all of you in making the
"Establishing and supporting Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) for
Internet security" session at the IGF, and the documentation that will come
out of this process useful. As part of this effort we have reached out to
experts at a number of CSIRTs and CSIRT-associations to join us on the
mailing list, or contribute to us directly so we can share their findings
and insights with you.

As part of this process, we'd like to invite you to share with this list
your thoughts around the various topics addressed in the Reporting Template
Constance shared earlier:

1. Definition of the issue
2. Regional specificities observed (e.g. Internet industry development)
3. Existing policy measures and private sector initiatives, impediments
4. What worked well, identifying common effective practices
5. Unintended consequences of policy interventions, good and bad
6. Unresolved issues where further multistakeholder cooperation is needed
7. Insights gained as a result of the experience
8. Proposed steps for further multistakeholder dialogue

We'll be working on this list to prepare for the sessions until the end of
August. From now until then, we will organize three webinars in which you
can participate directly. These will take place at the following dates and
times:

July 24th, 2014 at 8am GMT
August 13th, 2014 at 4pm GMT
August 25th, 2014 at 1am GMT

We will share details on how to participate in these calls once we get
closer to these dates.

Again, we look forward to working with you. We welcome your thoughts and
feedback, and your experiences, so together we can make this document and
session as effective as possible for all stakeholders.

Best regards,

Cristine, Adli and Maarten
