Dear Chris and Colleagues:

With respect to the document that you attach, I think that the
campaign should focus on the IGF and not drift towards concepts
and ideas that, although they may seem obvious to us, are still
open to debate.

In that sense, points 3 and 4 seem to me not to contribute much
to why the IGF should be maintained. These points open a debate
that goes beyond the IGF.

If the objective of the campaign is to advocate for the
permanence of the IGF, its unique characteristics must be made
explicit, which in addition to being 'bottom-up', include the NRIs
and Intersessional Work.

Best regards

Juan

I will make a comment I had made before:

In key message 2, I miss including academia as another,
separate, multistakeholder. I know I received the answer that
in the UN environment, academia is included under private
and/or civil society, but I am used to mentioning it as a
separate stakeholder. As a matter of fact, in several
countries, the Internet (and ccTLDs) originated in some
academic institutions, and in some cases, the ccTLD remains
there.

On another point, regarding the Social Media campaign,
maybe it is already included, but I think we need to develop
messages, language and people bringing the message, according
to age segments.
colleagues,

As Sookie noted on our MAG call yesterday, some work has been
initiated by GIZ (the German Development Agency) and members
of the Leadership Panel to develop and implement a campaign
for communication, marketing, and fundraising. The group is
also eager to engage with the WG-Strategy on this effort, and
to that end, I have attached a Word doc version of the initial
plan.

LP member María Fernanda Garza has also agreed to give a brief
update to the WG-Strategy on our call tomorrow. WG members are
invited to consider the content of the attached document and
bring any thoughts or reactions to the discussion tomorrow (or
here on the list).
Best,
Chris
