Dear Jorge,
dear all,
Many thanks, Jorge, for these very thoughtful comments and for taking the time to share concrete ideas and proposals.
I fully share your perspective. I agree that it is essential for us to use the same language as the WSIS+20 Outcome Document and to take very seriously the expectations and asks that are now clearly directed at the IGF.
Just to clarify, the draft that was circulated was intended primarily as a baseline to frame the discussion and to facilitate the collection of comments and inputs from all of you, rather than as a final or consolidated text.
In the meantime, I would like to kindly remind everyone that the deadline to submit further comments, integrations and considerations is 27 January.
Best regards,
Titti

Dear Titti and all
Thanks very much for the draft and apologies for jumping late into the discussion. I've included some ideas, proposals and comments in the doc.
My main point is that now we have really good language from the WSIS+20 Outcome Document, which is directly addressing the IGF. We not only have the opportunity but even more the obligation to deliver on said language. Obviously the responsibility is hared with DESA, the IGF Secretariat and all participants. But we should IMO take this opportunity very seriously with the aim of delivering on the asks directed at the IGF...
Attached you'll find some ideas on a number of paras that directly address the IGF. Just food for thought, and prepared very quickly with some help... of course there are more elements we can and should consider, e.g. the IGFs role in the overall follow-up to WSIS (paras 104-127), where the IGF could play a much more proactive and agenda-framing role, now that its future existence is "permanent" :)
IMO we should avoid a too generic document - but aim to deliver on what is asked from us with as concretes proposals as possible...
Kind regards
Jorge
