Hi all,
I support Anriette’s proposal and believe it’s important to activate this discussion to explore whether there are areas of convergence among the different positions.
I suggest we continue this conversation—specifically regarding webinars, timelines, and other details—during the next WG Strategy meeting, scheduled for July 17 at 1 PM UTC.
Additionally, I believe it’s crucial to manage the post-IGF follow-up effectively, ensuring that the key messages and insights from the event are clearly communicated and carried forward.
Best regards,
Titti

Hi all,
Various +1s here, specifically:
- Fully agree with the webinar idea, and I think we can develop a rough outline/structure and schedule quite quickly. I agree with Anriette’s clustering suggestion, and would probably cap it at three webinars (just for logistics’ sake), with diverse time slots, as per Joyce’s suggestion.
Timewise, I’m not sure it’s necessary or realistic to get all the sessions in before the Elements Paper response deadline of 25 July, but perhaps it’s possible to schedule the sessions in the weeks of 21 and 28 July (assuming the emerging consensus on doing them holds)?
I’ve started a doc with links to the various documents (I couldn’t easily locate links to the UK and AUDA docs, so please feel free to add those):
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rQKjSBahqZ0bmWWMsTAuNaRi1iNuHFXbL314onz2eHs/edit?usp=sharing
- Agree with Desiree that, while we’re all coming out of a very busy period, it would be useful to have a virtual MAG meeting before the end of July, both to lock down the webinar idea, and ideally to get some initial momentum on the MAG work plans for the remainder of the year.
Best,
Chris

Hi Anriette et al
Thank you for starting the thread.
In my view the MAG should have a call before the end of July or befgining of August
if possible to discuss work ahead and have a debrief and discuss these late developments.
With all respect to holidays and first half if the year gine Not sure how others feel, but waiting till September feels a bit too long imo.

in case you cannot find our non-paper v2 :)
I feel Anriette‘s proposal makes sense - at the same time things will accelerate very much as soon as we have the zero draft in August… The IMSB and the community need to deliver inputs asap - hence, I think that focused discussions on aspects of all non-papers could be organized asap in August and September with a view to also reacting and feeding into the discussions on zero and subsequent drafts…
kindly
Jorge

Betreff: Re: [WG-Strategy] Proposal for MAG/WG-strategy activity in the coming weeks
Apologies all.. I accidentally sent this unfinished mail yesterday. Here is a complete version:
Dear MAG chair and members and MAG-WG-strategy members
Proposal for online discussions on WSIS+20 'non' papers
As the MAG plans its work for the rest of the year I want to propose that, working with the MAG working group on IGF strategy, it convenes a series of discussions on the various non-papers/white-papers that some governments, tech community, business and civil society organisations have produced on the WSIS+review. Many of these focus specifically on the future evolution and role of the IGF.
A useful preparatory exercise would be to compile a list of these documents. Here are a few examples:
* Australia - WSIS+20 Non-Paper<https://lists.icann.org/hyperkitty/list/wsis20@icann.org/thread/UJJTVKL6EIL3X35YSJ3ODE3OOPJBFGQR/?noscript>
* EU non-paper on World Summit on the Information Society WSIS+20 stakeholder participation<https://www.eeas.europa.eu/delegations/un-new-york/eu-non-paper-world-summit-information-society-wsis20-stakeholder-participation_en?s=63>
* Swiss paper - don't have a link but it has been shared here
* The UK has also shared a document but I don't have the link
* There are ISOC and ICANN documents. AUDA published one a while ago.
* From civil society there are, to mention just two, the WSIS+20 Five-Point Plan Follow-up: Eight Practical Recommendations by the Global Digital Rights Coalition and Digital Justice, Now! A Call to Action for WSIS+20 and Beyond<https://gdjf.globaldigitaljusticeforum.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Digital_Justice_Now_A_Call_to_Action_for_WSIS20_and_Beyond_v2-1.pdf> by the Global Digital Justice Forum
My proposal is that the MAG asks the WG-strategy to convene a series of moderated online discussions over the next few months where the authors of these papers can present them for open discussion. Ideally we could cluster a few together, e.g. two or three at a time, combining state and non-state actors.
The outcome of these discussions would be useful for the "Sounding Board".
Please share how you feel about this proposal - I am not sure it is realistic to wait for the first MAG meeting before starting this. I also think it would be good to draw the Leadership Panel into this process.
Looking forward to your reactions. And, as a starting point, let's build a list of all the relevant documents and where they can be found :)
