What about IGF Code of Conduct, does it apply for (hosting) countries?

Best,
Meelis

You are both correct. Conflict is not an appropriate term under the circumstances.

Dear all

For your information. The event is open to all, but I am aware it clashes with the WG-strategy call today.

Best to you all.. and solidarity to everyone who is affected in any way at all by the conflict in Europe at present.

It will be held online, using Microsoft Teams platform. We will be starting at 9:00 am New York Time and the event will last approximately 90 minutes, which we believe will allow not only for your interventions, but also for some questions from the participants and a more interactive discussion.

Dear Colleagues,

As previously announced, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations, together with Poland’s Plenipotentiary for the United Nations Internet Governance Forum 2021 (UN IGF) and in cooperation with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, will tomorrow hold a virtual event entitled “From the UN IGF to Our Common Agenda” summarizing the 16th annual UN IGF meeting that was held in Katowice, Poland, from 6 to 10 December 2021. After careful consideration, we have decided to carry on with it as initially planned, with the understanding that digital technology plays an important role also in the ongoing conflict.

The meeting will feature presentations by the representatives of the UN Secretariat, the IGF Secretariat, the Government of Poland and the civil society. Its purpose is to allow further reflection on how the recommendations developed in Poland and compiled into the Katowice IGF Messages<https://www.intgovforum.org/en/filedepot_download/248/20757> could contribute to advancing both the purpose of Our Common Agenda<https://www.un.org/en/un75/common-agenda> as well as the digital goals of the 2030 Agenda. The concept note including program of the event is hereby attached.

The online meeting will take place tomorrow, on Thursday, 3 March 2022, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am (NYC time) via Microsoft Teams. You can join the meeting via this link<https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_MjM1NjY0MjMtN2EwMC00OGZjLWE1YWEtODdiODAyZmI0YTky%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22a9cf8755-a7b8-4b4d-babb-7057868c9563%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%22bcde9cb2-ad6d-496d-8bf3-fc41d477096e%22%7d>.

The meeting agenda is as follows:

· Opening remarks by Mr. Liu Zhenmin, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs

· Presentation by Mr. Krzysztof Szubert, High Representative of the Prime Minister of Poland for the European Digital Policy and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland for UN IGF 2021

· Presentation by Ms. Maria-Francesca Spatolisano, Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Inter-Agency Affairs and Acting Secretary-General's Envoy on Technology

· Presentation by Mr. Chengetai Masango, Programme and Technology Manager, Secretariat of the UN Internet Governance Forum

1. Presentation by Ms. Anriette Esterhuysen, former Chair of the IGF’s Multistakeholder Advisory Group, representing civil society

· Q&A session with participants

The event will be moderated by Mr. Michał Pukaluk, Director of Digital Policy Department at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland.

Ms. Iwona Lula (iwona.lula at msz.gov.pl<mailto:iwona.lula at msz.gov.pl>; +1 646 559 7579) from the Mission of Poland can be contacted for further information.

We hope you will be able to join us tomorrow and look forward to your active participation.
