More than 7,000 participants from over 170 countries expected
at 20th Internet Governance Forum to
shape an inclusive, rights-based and sustainable digital future

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF<https://intgovforum.org/en>) is a global, open and inclusive platform convened by the UN Secretary-General for multistakeholder dialogue on digital public policy. The 20th  annual IGF - marking the Forum's twentieth anniversary - will bring together governments, the private sector, civil society, the technical community, and youth to discuss key digital issues, including the governance of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital inclusion, access gaps, data protection, and online safety.

This milestone IGF also takes place during the twenty-year review of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20). This process, led by the UN General Assembly, assesses progress in advancing a people-centered, inclusive, and development-oriented information society. The IGF will serve as a platform to contribute multistakeholder perspectives to the WSIS+20 review and to ongoing efforts to strengthen digital cooperation, coordination, and accountability.

Although Internet connectivity now reaches 68% of the global population, 2.6 billion people - mostly in developing countries - remain offline. The Forum will spotlight concrete policy approaches to close digital divides, protect rights, and foster inclusive innovation. Discussions will also support implementation of the Global Digital Compact, adopted by UN Member States in 2024, which calls for open and inclusive digital governance.

The Forum will take place under the theme 'Building Digital Governance Together' and feature over 150 sessions, following four main themes:


  *   Digital Trust and Resilience
  *   Sustainable and Responsible Innovation
  *   Universal Access and Digital Rights
  *   Digital Cooperation
