Dear PNE colleagues
The timing of the release of the final output report is excellent in terms of influencing other related processes. In particular, here is the download link<https://www.sparkblue.org/system/files/2022-03/Draft%20CODES%20Action%20Plan%20V7%2028%20February%202022_0.pdf> to the draft Action Plan for a Sustainable Planet in the Digital Age – one of the follow-up tracks to the SG’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation. The draft Action Plan will be presented at a side event to the UN Environment Assembly on 2 March (tomorrow) from 18:15-19:45 (EAT time zone). The registration link for the event is here<https://emamo.com/event/united-nations-environment-assembly-unea-52/s/accelerating-action-towards-a-sustainable-planet-in-the-digital-age-NyJzza> – and a short 2 min curtain raiser for the event is here<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hLFU6xvneo>. It would be excellent if members of the PNE could participate in the UNEA side event and share some of the key recommendations from ’Using Digitalisation for Our Common Future’’. In addition, as the Draft Action Plan for a Sustainable Planet in the Digital Age is now open for stakeholder feedback<https://www.sparkblue.org/CODESActionPlanFeedback>, it would be beneficial if some PNE members could also participate in the feedback process.
Many thanks and congrats again to the members of the PNE for completing this important contribution to this policy space.

‘’’The transformative effect of digitalisation can be seen in the efficiencies derived from it in nature, in caring for nature when developing digital technologies, infrastructures, data and services, and in the improved governance that digitalisation brings to the coexistence of people and nature.
The authors of the Policy Network on Environment and Digitalisation (PNE) would like to offer guidance in proposing a spectrum of 15 concrete, actionable policy recommendations to ensure that the opportunities processes of digitalisation present can take full account of the challenges. The recommendations are sorted thematically by four issue areas: Environmental Data; Food and Water Systems; Supply Chain Transparency and Circularity; and Overarching Issues.’’
