The event will be co-hosted by Kenya and Germany on 2nd March 2022 18:15-19:45 (EAT time zone). CODES is a multi-stakeholder coalition of over 1,000 members aiming to harness digital technologies to accelerate environmentally and socially sustainable development.

The UNEA 5.2 side event aims to achieve three goals:

1. Present the draft Action Plan to member states together with major groups and stakeholders
2. Generate ideas on how CODES can deepen stakeholder engagement and buy in, with an emphasis on countries, major groups and stakeholders
3. Discuss concrete ways that CODES can catalyze specific commitments and leadership for the Impact Initiatives proposed by the Action Plan

The ultimate outcome is to increase visibility and buy-in across countries, major groups and stakeholders so that the Action Plan can be launched during Stockholm +50 conference.
