Dear Amrita and others,

Thanks for the follow-up. As far as I remember, the panel has two female speakers and two male speakers at the moment. we agreed to invite another female academic,
gender wise, Xing Li sounds ok.

Best,
Yik Chan

Thanks for the update Yik Chan.

If we are balanced from the gender perspective, we can offcourse consider Professor Xing Li. He was considered first.

Amrita

Thanks Noia, we would have loved having you speak and share the Pacific perspective. Unfortunately, as you know, we MAG members cannot speak in the main sessions.

Is there anyone (female) from Pacific Islands you are aware who would be there and can be invited to speak?

Regards,

Amrita

At the PNAI meeting today we agreed that invitation mails will be sent to

1. Alice Munya Senior Director, Africa Mradi at Mozilla corporation Kenya (Technical Community)
2. Jose Renato Laranjeira de Pereira Founder and Advisor, Laboratory of Public Policy and Internet - LAPIN; Expert Member at the Brazilian AI Strategy (Civil Society)

Carol would have to come back if Mr. Rodney Taylor, Secretary General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union would be interested to speak on AI

The other speakers who were considered were :

Owen Larter from Microsoft
and Prof Xing Li

However as we need to have gender balance in the panel we are looking for women speakers preferably onsite from : Business, Academia/ Technical Community, Government.

We also need recommendation for a strong moderator.

Kindly share the same at the earliest over email

During the PNAI call on 26th September, we will reserve some time for discussion on the main session.
