[Outreach_com_2015] Thoughts on the September MAG meeting and WSIS outreach

I understand that Brazil is planning an outreach but I am thinking that all of us as MAG-ites, should also be engaging duringCSTD, which preceeds the planned Brazil event, and also during WSIS Forum.M

An outreach to the Governmental Missions based in Geneva is more than necessary so I would very much support Marilyn’s idea.

WSIS +10 consultations will emerge very rapidly, post June announcement of Co Faciliators.  At least two consultations would seem probable.  I 'doubt' that we will know until June, so perhaps
 we focus on the principle -- and ask how we could as MAG propose to participate.  Given the time span, perhaps we can be a little flexible.  

 


I wonder, though, if we should focus first on finalizing messages. Another idea could be engagement with governments as former  hosts, governments as present and past MAG members, building
 on the Brazilian outreach. The MAG will be in Geneva in May. 


How about a mission invitation to a reception with the MAG at this meeting? 


 


I could ask IGFSA if there might be support.

I was wondering what the Outreach committee members thought about the September MAG meeting with respect to any WSIS outreach. If the WSIS+10 meetings will be taking place at other, different
 times maybe we should change course and look at working around those meetings. They are not yet announced, but it would be good to start thinking about our WSIS approach.
 
I am seeking thoughts/feedback from all of you on WSIS outreach so please send it along to the group.
