[IGFmaglist] MAG Election!?

Dear Chengtai, and all

Hi, long time no see, and sorry for my long silence.

I was surprised to read one of MAG member's report saying that at the April
MAG Consultation meeting, the
UN DESA person Mr. Deniz Susar said they will start MAG Election process
shortly soliciting the names for the MAG renewal.  ELECTION? I already sent
my message the MAG person who wrote that.

I tried to check the meeting report from IGF website, but the link below
was broken and could not reach any.

Also, June MAG meeting pate was unreachable.

Unless IGF changed the rules of the game, I still believe MAG members are
appointed by UN/SG, not elected by voting. Just need clarification.
