Hi Lynn, Eleonora,
Many thanks for forwarding this list. The list seems to be missing a workshop that was discussed today: #15 on "Learnings from Multistakeholder Collaborations in Cybersecurity Response and Capacity Building," co-proposed by Microsoft Korea and the government of South Korea who are both first time proposers.
As I will be unfortunately be unable to attend the MAG meeting tomorrow due to panel participation at the WSIS Forum, I am including additional information here on the workshop for the MAG's consideration. The workshop discusses practical learnings from collaboration between governments, computer incidents/emergency response teams, universities, and private sector from South Korea, China, Oman, and Rwanda, to promote collaborations in cybersecurity and online safety. The proposer aim to address current concerns expressed on what are some good approaches in capacity building on cybersecurity issues in developing countries.
The workshop is ranked 197, with a score of 3.64. The comments questioned the diversity of the panel, which is not listed, but includes 1 woman (Jing De Jong-Chen) and 4 men. In discussion with the proposers, they propose inviting a female expert from KISA to substitute for the current proposed speaker.
Other comments include: Also format could be more interactive. The proposal would benefit from more speakers diversity (gender, regional). Check for possible merge with similar topics.
Regarding more speaker diversity, especially regional, in light of the discussion today on integrating the NRIs into more of the IGF program, perhaps NRIs that are interested in this topic can be invited to participate and share the challenges that they are facing in their countries/regions, as well as other learning to help enrich this dialogue. Other workshops that are considering the same topics can also be explored for merging. As appropriate, I volunteer to work with the proposers to address the MAG comments and suggestions for improvements if the workshop is considered.
Many thanks in advance for your consideration.
Best regards,
Carolyn
