Dear Renata and Friends of MAG,

BPFs:

Just updating, I would like to express my support both for the BPF on remote participation and the BPF on Local Content. I thank very much the proponents for their work.

WGs:

I’ve been reading carefully the texts and trying to follow the very informative discussions that have taken place over the last couple of days.

In a general view, let me express that I agree on having as many WGs as needed, and that for them to make sense as a process (in full agreement with what was expressed by Ambassador Karklins), communication is of the essence.

Allow me to join Carolyn on the matter of the approaches by the WGII (what) and WGMSP (how), and I notice here that those would be joined also by the possible Working Group on Session Formats WGSF (how/when). I am at the MAG disposal to try and offer some help any on those.

Having said the previous, the main message from my stand is that we need to put our efforts in the long term view while adjusting and developing better use of our communication (coordination among WG) means whilst continuing the development of the IGF as an even more effective Forum to convey the multistakeholder message; some sort of a parallel tracks approach.

Finally, it would be timely for us as well to take a look at the LLDC’s connectivity issues and its consequences in sustainable development, possibly in the form of experts within already existing BPFs or sections of the programme for this year.

Thank you very much to all for their efforts and I wish you all an excellent day,

Miguel Candia
