+1 Ensuring That No One is Left Behind

The host country co-chair invited us to be creative and look forward to the next ten years. Here's a brainstorm.

Many more things around us will have an IP address in ten years than do now - including in the room we're in, the vehicles that will take us around, the kitchens and farms where we get our food. Hence, Internet Governance will in ten years have a completely different dimension than it does now. It will be about much more intertwined in our everyday behaviour than simply our computer and smartphone screens. So:

"Internet Governance as Information Society Governance"

Slightly less tongue-in-cheek, though along the same (serious) lines, as more people and machines are connected, that will continue to empower many, but will also automate many new jobs, effectively taking away many jobs humans do. This will contribute to increased inequalities. There will be increased wealth in society, but more  concentrated, unless thought is put at the outset, before the power divergences become too great.

Hence, another potential overarching theme, or at least a theme, which perhaps the High Level Panel can focus on, but can also be a part of the discussions throughout the forum:

"Reducing Inequalities While Connecting People and Machines."
