Dear All,

There appears to be a demand for Internet Governance Forums and capacity building within Asia Pacific. There were 25 Respondents to the Survey.

    * To see the Survey Results from the Asia Pacific (Caveat: I did this in preparation for coming to the Open Consultation and is not exhaustive and neither is it the view of any organisation within the Asia Pacific but serves to act as a barometer of how people think in the region and is limited to the views of the 25 Respondents who responded) visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/analyze/qUjPgP2ADc6Br9Bw_2F17fmEc0aBc_2BSgLEppGml0QdPbk_3D

The Survey Link was shared on the following mailing lists:

    * Pacific Chapter of the Internet Society
    * Asia Pacific Regional IGF
    * South East Asia Computer Confederation

Multipronged Approach to Strategies for 2016 Internet Governance Forum

Sustainable Ways

Dynamic Coalitions

    * There is a need to strengthen Dynamic Coalitions and use the Dynamic Coalitions to diversify and build on existing thematic knowledge hubs that are linked with the SDGs;
    * This will include standardising Reports and Outcomes and linking their work with local and national IGFs and Regional IGFs;

Regional IGFs Taking the Initiative

    * Getting Regions to take ownership for outreach within their Regions. UNDESA, the MAG and the Secretariat should enable the establishment of Guidelines to develop this thematic areas within the region where these are synthesised well before convening an IGF. This will help avoid duplication, and encourage greater efficiency and coherence.
    * There were some that mentioned the need to align funding, I would recommend that we build on the existing linkages between the Means of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, visit link .
