Judith and Jutta

Would you keep Lidia Best in copy please. She is taking over the responsibilities I have had (as technically I have retired ) after working an entire lifetime in accessibility. In two years, I will be 80 years old.

And I am working on the history of text communication and other techincal advancements regarding persons with disabilities as many almost most of them were largely created by persons with disabilities over my lifetime.

I still have my marbles in check and since I know where most of the "bodies are buried", ie documents and international standards plus a general historical knowledge of the past work of these individuals in the area of accessibility, (with some sadly no longer on the planet) , I am happy contribute when needed.

Any of you who I left in copy are welcome to communicate as well.
Warm regards.
Andrea

Hi Jutta,
Sorry I was flying and oiled not be on the call. Dr. Shabbir briefed me on the plan. Thanks so much for taking the accessibility issues seriously. We greatly appreciate it.

I was wondering because of gender balance issues Dr. Shabbir said you preferred to have a female. I am happy to present if that is an option. I have not been on a main session, though I have organized one. Dr. Shabbir also mentions that since he was on the main session last year he could not be on this year. I see others on the panel who were on the main session in past years so possibly that was not the issue.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,
Judith

Dear all,

thank you for taking part in our prep-call for the DCs Main Session at IGF 2025. Finally we have come up with an approach to the accessibility issues and the programme for the session.

Accessibility

We agreed to hold the session although accessibility for all cannot yet be guaranteed yet. We will have a statement in regard of accessibility being a pre-condition for the DCs‘ main session at the beginning, this shall also be advertised at the DCs‘ booth in IGF village. @Markus Kummer<mailto:kummer.markus at gmail.com> will address the issue in advance trying to get at least int. sign language interpretation for the session. We will also address the issue in the planned meeting with the MAG chair and UN DESA. @Roman Chukov<mailto:roman.chukov at un.org> could you please check whether in the INDICO registration process participants are asked if the yhave disability issues and let us know about the number of hearing impaired people – thanks in advance.

Programme of the main session

We agreed on the agenda as laid down in the google.doc<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1e6ba1y4Qz4NcbFLz99uMESTnctj-ekS0YiPRfnb-LD0/edit?tab=t.0>. We also agreed to have max 4 speakers on the panel. The four panelists shall address the 4 policy questions on behalf of the respective DCs as follows below.

Please take your time til tommorow, Tuesday June 17th eob to give feedback only within the google.doc<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1e6ba1y4Qz4NcbFLz99uMESTnctj-ekS0YiPRfnb-LD0/edit?tab=t.0>.

I will finalise the session description on Wednesday morning 7.00 UTC and sen dit to the IGF secretariat.

Once the session description and the decision on panelists is finalised I’ll ask all those of you who are selected as a panelist or back-up speaker please get in contact with the further named speakers to make sure you are also speaking on their behalf.

Kind regards

Jutta
