IGF Secretariat Engagement in Key WSIS+20 and Digital Governance Dialogues
The IGF Secretariat participated in two significant gatherings this month: the Fourth Arab Consultative Conference on the WSIS+20 Review Process in Dubai, and the Global Digital Governance Experts Retreat in Madrid. These engagements contributed to advancing inclusive preparations for WSIS+20 and strengthening multistakeholder dialogue on global digital cooperation.

IGF Intersessional Work Outputs 2025 Publication Ceremony | 1 December

Take part in the official launch of the 2025 IGF intersessional work outputs, featuring reports and policy recommendations developed through the IGF’s Policy Networks and Best Practice Forum.

The event will spotlight key findings, collaborative outputs, and next steps to strengthen global digital cooperation in the lead-up to the WSIS+20 Review and beyond.

4th and Final Youth Track activity of the 2025 Cycle | 3 November

On November 3, the fourth and final Youth IGF Track workshop of the 2025 cycle took place at the Latin American and Caribbean IGF (LACIGF) in Córdoba, Argentina — concluding a year-long global journey of youth engagement and capacity development.

From France to Tanzania, Norway to the Asia-Pacific, and now Argentina, young leaders have explored one of today’s most pressing issues in digital governance: social media governance and age assurance.

Latin American and Caribbean IGF Parliamentary Track | 3-4 November

The regional Parliamentary Track<https://www.intgovforum.org/en/content/parliamentary-summit-shaping-digital-futures-in-the-southern-cone-innovation-data-and> alongside the 18th edition of the LACIGF<https://lacigf.org/edicion-18-del-lacigf-2025/> was organized on 3-4 November. The track, which featured several workshops, was attended by over 15 legislators from Cordoba, including the Speaker of the legislature, and from the Parliaments of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Costa Rica, Panama and a Member of the European Parliament.

Nigeria IGF Parliamentary Track | 26 November
The <https://igf.africa/> Nigeria Internet Governance Forum<https://igf.ng/> (NIGF) will hold its first national Parliamentary Track on 26 November at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Maitama, Abuja, and online under the overarching theme “Building Digital Governance Together: From Vision to Action”. The Track will focus on the National Digital Economy and E-Governance Bill 2025, which seeks to support the Federal Government’s ambition to grow the digital economy to $1 trillion, harmonize ICT governance frameworks, strengthen cybersecurity, expand digital inclusion, and modernize public administration through e-government.

Sessions aim at equipping National Assembly and State House Assembly Members with the knowledge and tools to effectively engage in the legislative process, drawing on global, regional, and African experiences in digital governance. Conference on the Role of Parliaments in Shaping the Future of Responsible AI | 28-30 November
The upcoming conference on “The Role of Parliaments in Shaping the Future of Responsible AI<https://evok.urlsand.com/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ipu.org%2Fevent%2Frole-parliament-in-shaping-future-responsible-ai&e=2675cc1e&h=53419493&f=y&p=y>”, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), UNDP, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and the Parliament of Malaysia, will be held from 28 to 30 November 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The conference is expected to bring together up to 200 parliamentarians and parliamentary staff from around the world and will feature a dynamic two-track programme addressing the most pressing issues at the intersection of artificial intelligence and legislative governance.

Strengthening NRI Collaboration and Working Modalities
National, Regional and Youth IGF Initiatives (NRIs) devoted this last month to sharing practices aimed at improving their working modalities and coordination. To support this community-driven effort, the IGF Secretariat facilitated a bottom-up survey designed in consultation with NRIs across all regions. The consolidated findings will be published at the end of the month and will help inform future capacity-building and collaborative planning.
📝 WSIS+20 Review

Stakeholder Registration Deadline Extended for WSIS+20 High-Level Meeting
The stakeholder registration deadline for participation in the WSIS+20 High-Level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly has been extended by one week to 21 November. Stakeholders wishing to attend the High-Level Meeting in New York are encouraged to complete their registration before the updated closing date. Revision 1 of the WSIS+20 Outcome Document
The Co-Facilitators of the WSIS+20 process have presented the Revision 1<https://publicadministration.desa.un.org/sites/default/files/2021-04/2025/Rev1/WSIS%2B20_Rev1_071125_clean.pdf> of the outcome document for the twenty-year review of the implementation of the World Summit on the Information Society. The draft reflects inputs from Member States and other stakeholders, as well as contributions from across the UN system.

The virtual stakeholder consultation took place on 14 November to gather stakeholder inputs on the revised outcome document (Rev1<https://publicadministration.desa.un.org/sites/default/files/2021-04/2025/Rev1/WSIS%2B20_Rev1_071125_clean.pdf>) and more information on the virtual session can be found on the official webpage<https://publicadministration.desa.un.org/wsis20/rev1consultation>. WSIS Informal Multistakeholder Sounding Board (IMSB) Office Hours
The IMSB will hold open office hours to facilitate stakeholder engagement ahead of the WSIS+20 High-Level Meeting. The office hours will offer stakeholders an opportunity to seek clarification on the process, share perspectives, and raise questions related to preparations for the Meeting. Official Side Events at the UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting
The list of official side events on the margins of the WSIS+20 High-Level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly has now been published on the WSIS+20 website.<https://publicadministration.desa.un.org/wsis20/UN%20GA%20High-Level-Meeting%20Side%20Events> In-person, virtual, and off-site side events will be organized from 15 to 17 December 2025. These events provide space to share experiences, showcase innovations, identify emerging issues, and announce voluntary commitments towards a people-centered, inclusive, and development-oriented Information Society. The side event programme is expected to be released by 21 November.
