Hi all,
Per Wout’s request I’ve put together a quick case study on our Dutch answer to an ever growing problem of unwanted communication: DDoS attacks.
While this has nothing to do with spam, it shows that cooperation between ISP’s and hosting companies can lead to quick answers and best practices for a growing problem of very unsolicited and very unwanted communication...
Because the National Scrubbing Center is privately funded and completely non-profit I would like to share this with you. Hopefully this will give you all some additional information and ideas what can be achieved - even without subsidies or initial Government funding. The Dutch Government is now cooperating in this project, but only as “interested party”.
The document is as non-technical as possible but when needed I can give more technical details, how detection and redirection works, how mitigation and scrubbing works etc.
