Dear Marilia,

Thanks for this.

I have a question with respect to the role of remote moderators, i.e. last bullet point. You say remote moderators are expected to answer very briefly and objective questions after the session they moderate.

I was wondering what exactly is meant by this and when is this follow-up anticipated to take place, in other words immediately after the workshop or at a later stage. I assume this point will be eventually clarified at the online training but it would be useful to know so that we can plan our time in the IGF.

Thank you,
Elvana

Subject: [Rp2010] Role of hub organizers and of remote moderators

Dear all,

We have included here in the list both hub organizers and remote moderators. We did that because it is important to make sure that everybody involved in remote participation will be on the same page.

Remote moderators and hub organizers have different roles, nevertheless:

Hub Organizers:
They are not physically present in the IGF. They organize local meetings in their respective countries, that take place in parallel with the IGF. People can watch the webcast together and send questions (text or video) that will be answered by panelists in IGF. In addition, hub organizers can hold debates to discuss the themes introduced at the IGF, but from a local perspective.

Remote moderators:
They will attend the IGF in Vilnius and are volunteers who will forward the questions received from remote participants to the panelists.A complete description of the activities of the remote moderator can be found here: http://www.intgovforum.org/cms/the-preparatory-process/514-job-description-for-remote-moderators. Basically, the moderator has three main functions:

*	They have to connect online with the remote participants (all the equipment and software needed will be available and ready for them)
*	They have to connect the online participants to the discussions in the meeting room;
*	Lastly, they are responsible for some follow-up work for archiving purposes and in view of improving future remote participation efforts. (They are expected to answer very brief and objective questions after the session they moderate)

It is important to notice that remote moderators and hub organizers will both attend online training in Webex. Bernard, our team member responsible for technical issues, has recently sent you a Doodle link. Please choose among the options given the one that works best for you. This is important for us to schedule the online trainings.

If you have any doubts, please let us know.

Best regards,

Marília
