This session will explore how digital transformation is reshaping human rights governance, and how key international instruments — including the Internet Universality ROAM‑X Indicators<https://www.unesco.org/en/internet-universality-indicators?hub=66940>, UNESCO’s support to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR<https://www.unesco.org/en/tags/universal-periodic-review>) — the UN’s peer‑review mechanism assessing each country’s human rights situation — and guidance on digital platform governance and human rights impact assessment<https://unesdoc.unesco.org/ark:/48223/pf0000396797> can be leveraged to strengthen rights‑respecting digital ecosystems.

The event will feature insights from experts, researchers, and national institutions working to advance human rights online, followed by an interactive dialogue on emerging priorities and challenges.
