Dear Arnold,
thank you for kicking this off. I am meeting with Chengetai at the moment to go over details and missing pieces.
We are preparing a note to go to all MAG members re selecting the baskets, and will reference all 3 as they were all suggested by some MAG members. In addition, the Secretariat had begun work on a list given all the suggestions captured during the MAG meeting itself, and we will include that as a Secretariat or Chair proposal.
With respect to your comment on the process overall, I understand your position but the MAG as a whole was not comfortable that we could support a(any) regional process for the annual meeting. The MAG was not comfortable that it would scale for the size of the annual meeting.
I am on a plane this afternoon/tonight but the secretariat and I will be working this over the weekend.
Apologies for the brevity, Chengetai and I are trying to cover alot of ground. More soon.
Very best,
Lynn

By doing so, we should have the baskets from LAC IGF and EuroDIG next to each other to compare and than select as MAG the baskets for IGF2018. The baskets of DiploFoundation are in my view too wide formulated to take into account. The MAG should decide as soon as possible (through a conference call or by email) on the selection of the baskets for 2018 before the call for issues can be send out.

I had earlier a preference for only the call for issues-model which is being used by LAC IGF and EuroDIG and that has proven to be very successful, with an inclusive, bottom-up approach from the beginning of that process!
