Hi Lynn,
Thanks for starting this and given the holiday season that we are
entering, my worry is I might be off emails for some time so would
like to be the first to respond to this email.
My name is Arsene Tungali, from the Democratic Republic of Congo
(DRC). I just joined the MAG and have my roots as a civil society
representative.
My first encounter with the IGF was at the global meeting in 2011 (IGF
2011, Nairobi-Kenya) where I was invited as a Youth representative (i
was 21) to speak on a panel on child's online safety alongside other
young people from different countries. The panel was co-hosted by
UNICEF, ECPAT Int'l, the ITU, etc.
That's where it all started, leading me to take Diplo online courses,
attend the IGF in Brazil and Mexico (as an ISOC Ambassador), the
African IGF in Kenya and Durban (as an AfriSIG participant) and now
involved in the preparatory work of the Central African IGF and our
national IGF.
All for now.
Regards,
Arsene
