Good afternoon from Japan, my apologies for getting back to you. Yesterday was a national holiday.



I am very glad to hear from you and thank you so much for your kind words. We have been working very hard to find alternative speakers, and still need to wait for reactions from some candidate speakers (not listed in an attached paper). I'm gonna attach the current list of speakers (little bit improved after the IGF/MAG Virtual Meeting, thanks to my colleagues), and will be in touch with you and others.



However, my concern is not only about speakers/moderators, but about the audience. Because we invite high-level speakers, there must be a large audience otherwise our session will become meaningless for both high level speakers and the audience. I strongly hope you will assist us in this aspect too.

Chair, while I always respect your leadership, honestly speaking, I wanted to know that much earlier so that I did not have to say the same thing in every virtual meeting. In addition, I checked the programs and/or schedules of the previous IGFs from 2006 to 2016 but could not see any rotation.

I am about to finish my 1st year, but have ever experienced many intransparent processes. If there are unwritten practices, we should write them down as explicit provisions otherwise it is very hard for a 1st-year MAG member to catch up and also for the MAG to satisfy its responsibility “concerted efforts should be made by the MAG to improve the IGF process through community consultations, outreach and stakeholder engagement”, as provided in the MAG ToR.



This is our, MAG’s serious problem and I strongly believe we have to fulfill our accountability, in response to outside criticism. If necessary, I would like to file a submission on IGF Reform and Improvement while sharing my concerns with decision-makers next year. I look forward to discussing this with all of you in the future.

thank you to you and the team for all your efforts.  We all appreciate that there are extra difficulties this year given the scheduling, though the last day is never easy.  The only fair way to manage around the last day “problem” is to rotate amongst stakeholder groups and this is the practice the MAG and Secretariat have followed.



As was offered on the MAG call, we are all standing by to help.  Please do not hesitate to reach out individually or to the MAG as a whole.  The more specific you can be the more likelihood of success.  I would be very happy to get on a brainstorming call and would hope the host country and the secretariat would join as well.
