[IGFmaglist] IGF 2017 WS Evaluation Next Steps & Proposal from China

Dear Haojun,

I am very pleased to hear of China’s interest in the IGF.  And, while I believe a number of workshops from China have been accepted in past years, that is really not relevant to this years selection.

Generally speaking MAG members are not supposed to lobby for proposals from the countries, institutions or organizations they represent.  These WS proposals will be judged by the MAG following the same criteria, and I am sure from a positive perspective just as for all proposals.   And indeed, all MAG members should keep in mind first time proposers and look for ways to improve the proposals - as you say "in accordance with established IGF and MAG practices".

Also, as a government, China has the opportunity to submit a request for an Open Forum and that might be something China wishes to pursue.
