Haven't we always had a Resource Person's sign up list? 
I ask the Secretariat to advise on this, as I thought was a past standing resource.

There is a tab called community on IGF website. This would enable registered people to message each other.
FYI This section is being updated. But for a fast solution could be a way to go.

But it would certainly help those with expertise who may lack the proper knowledge of how to get involved or how to organize a session, and it would also be another means to get recruited if someone's workshop didn't make the MAG cut if they have the proper experience.

If there's enough support for the idea, perhaps the MAG Chair and the Secretariat can tell us what they think and if it can be implemented for this year, I don't think it would take too much effort to start it.

they read the materials. They met the deadlines. And I went through several of those who didn't make it and I see that a) they submitted workshop proposals while some in the 'first list' did not, and b) they went for diversity of speakers, and c) if they proposed a panel, they submitted a real background paper.

Let's reward a few of those who did the work first, before we keep going out and saying: okay, you didn't make the deadline but we love you and will find you a role.
Maybe we can do both, but let's be kind to those who did the work as a priority.

Creating a resource pool might be something worth thinking about. It might make it easier...:
...for people like this, who have something to say but missed deadline for workshop proposals;
...for people who have a good idea, but have not had global exposure before and don't have the networks;
...for the IGF in general, to get out of the 'usual suspects' trap, through a widened resource pool...

But, to avoid such a resource pool becoming a 'usual suspects' enhancer, it should make possible for anyone to put their name forward, but then to be evaluated at end of workshops for such things as: depth of knowledge in area,
 novelty of ideas, clarity of communication, etc.
