[IGFmaglist] Early Thoughts on Main Sessions

Dear Colleagues,

Perhaps it is a bit too early, but I have been thinking a lot about main sessions, and a topic that I would really love for us to move forward is “Women in ICT.”  I was on a panel last year during the WSIS, and one of the audience participants approached me to ask if the IGF would take on “Women in ICT” in a bigger way than it has in the past.  I would love to be able to take this humble request, and turn it into a very substantive main session, that ties in the great work that so many organizations are involved in, and identifies areas where more work is needed.  This topic came up on the ISOC community call that was held this week as well.  I just wanted to put out a small placeholder to hopefully discuss this at one of our upcoming MAG meetings.  I look forward to working with you all again this year— I know we did not dedicate any time to go over things that we ourselves can improve upon for the next IGF, so I hope we will also take a moment to discuss what worked well, and to build out the areas that still need some work.  Thank you for your time and consideration.
