Thanks very much, Chengetai.I join with others to thank you and the rest of the Secretariat for all the work that you are doing!
A few comments:I note that there is a change in the time allocation for WSIS+10, and I do not support moving from a minimum of 3 hours to two.
Here is why:
Many discussions took place during the last week at UN.Some are public, and many are private.
The PGA of today at UN published the timeline, which I attach as the Preliminary Roadmap. It clearly notes that the Stakeholder engagement after Sept 15, will be organized by the PGA of the 70th Session.Let's not be pessimistic.
Let's be optimistic.
Hold at least a 3 hour WSIS+10 plenary, which if the PGA and Co facilitators cannot attend, as least as guests, is still critically important, as we will be opining on Zero Draft [to be published 1st week of November]. The IGF will have 50++ governments and many stakeholders who want to comment on this draft. The IGF will have visibility and engagement with IGOs, such as UNESCO, ITU, UNDP, UNCTAD, all of whom are participating.
And, Brazil as IGF host, is a major player in advancing engagement on bringing forward messages from the IGF on the WSIS+10 process.

So, I ask that we maintain the options of at least one 3 hour session. I would prefer that we maintain two seasions for now, but at least one, full 3 hour session
Second topic:taking a new and really fresh approach to Sustainable Development and Internet [Digital ] EconomyBringing in CEOs or really senior speakers from USER industries can significantly change this session, make it truly fresh, and bring in players in the Global Compact, for instance, who are challenging themselves now to adapt to SDGs.
I raised concerns earlier about the idea of a polling exercise during and before and after the IGF, which I do think has bleed over impact to the IGF, regardless of the assertions that it is the day before, or the day after. I also have concerns that participants in the Advisory Group of the Poll should not be members of the MAG, its chair, or its Secretariat, so that we are not as the MAG negotiating against ourselves, or not understanding conflicts clearly. As presently constructed, there is no way that MAG members or its advisors would be excluded from the poll, if the approach is constructed to rely on the registration list. The amount of proposed funding is amazing in terms of the budget of the IGF itself, and raises the question to me of why those who seek to fund this, would not fund increased attendance of the IGF bringing in a substantially increased number from all regions, from all stakeholders. That would be an impact.
