[IGFmaglist] Question about evaluation mechanism - "blank" scores

If abstains due to conflict of interest /due to association with a workshop, that should not count against a workshop, in my view.
If not all MAG members complete all evaluations, that should also not count against the workshop.
not ranking for another reason, or giving a 0 ranking is different than either of the above.M

Hello Paul, Carolina,
I think that not adding a score ,will eventually affect the workshop either way.....not putting a score would be equivalent to 'abstaining' in a a voting system right? that in my understanding would be very difficult in the workshop set up , because we cant say e.g out of 10 MAG members, workshop 3 was evaluated by only 7 MAG members....so this is the score, workshop 5 out of 10 MAG members was only evaluated/given a score by 4 MAG members and this the score )...this would be very difficult work ....in my opinion if you do not give a score then it is the same as having a 0. So I would suggest that we try and give a score to all the workshops.
my 2 cents

Hi PaulI also tend to agree that a blank score should not be considered a zero and thus should not affect the overall average score of that session.Best

Hi Chengetai and all,
can I confirm that if a MAG member chooses not (or omits) to enter a score for any given proposal, that this non-score will have no bearing on the final rating.
i am opting not to enter a score for several proposals in which I may have a conflict of interest (by organisational association) but I want to be sure that in this case, the proposal score will be calculated as an average of the scores of other MAG members, and that my decision will not effect that score.
thanks,
Paul.
