[IGFmaglist] Update & Invitation to join the BPF mailing list

Dear MAG Colleagues,

Following the last MAG meeting, and given the tight timeframe, we need to start preparing for the Best Practices Forums. The five agreed themes are:

  1.  Developing meaningful multistakeholder mechanisms
  2.  Regulation and mitigation of unwanted communications (e.g. "spam")
  3.  Establishing and supporting Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) for Internet security
  4.  Creating an enabling environment for the development of local content
  5.  Best practices for online child protection

The IGF Secretariat has already initiated a process to hire two consultants that will assist to document the discussions and work towards the Istanbul sessions. In the coming weeks, we will be working with all MAG members, Janis, Markus and Hartmut, to identify Lead Experts from the community, attract relevant stakeholders to join virtual discussions and work with the consultants towards documented outcomes (following the attached common template) that will feed into the Main Session "Taking Stock".

Our first task being to identify Lead Experts, I would welcome your feedback on the following proposals. Suggestions of alternative names are welcome of course:

  1.  Multistakeholder mechanisms: George Sadowsky (Technical community/Civil Society)
  2.  Spam: Jerome Cudelou (Orange, Business)
  3.  CERTS: Udo Helmbrecht (ENISA, IGO)
  4.  Local content: Stuart Hamilton (IFLA, Civil Society)
  5.  Online child protection: Hannah Broadbent (Childnet, Civil Society)
