Dear Olga,

Thank you for  your presentation today and documentation. I wish to inform
you also that besides the WSIS Action Lines, we should take into account
the WSIS Targets, which are measuring ICT penetration/usage in each country
and in all sectors. A questionnaire was developed by the Partnership on
Measuring ICT for Development whose current members are: International
Telecommunication Union (ITU), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and
Development (OECD), Statistical Office of the European Communities
(Eurostat), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD),
United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), United
Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), United Nations Economic
Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), United Nations
Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), United
Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), UNESCO
Institute for Statistics (UIS), United Nations Environment
Programme/Secretariat of the Basel Convention (UNEP/SBC), The United
Nations University Institute for Sustainability and Peace, and the World
Bank.

The data collection has started few days ago and is being coordinated
globally by ITU and in each continent by the UN Regional Commissions. Some
institutions are also coordinating some sectors with which they are working
closely.
